Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of Illegal Weapons

(WNY News Now) – A Buffalo man admitted guilt to two counts of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, following a discovery of illicit firearms during an Extreme Risk Protection Order enforcement.

Buffalo – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn revealed that Sean M. Brown, 55, pleaded guilty to two Class “D” violent felonies for attempting to possess illegal firearms. On November 12, 2022, during the execution of an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) at his Lincoln Parkway residence in Buffalo, Brown was apprehended with an unlawful handgun and rifle.


Brown was apprehended with an unlawful handgun and rifle. Facing a maximum sentence of 7 years, Brown’s sentencing is scheduled for October 2, 2023. Held on bail since November 2022, he has been released on his own recognizance until sentencing.
