(WNY News Now) – A 31-year-old Sheridan resident, was apprehended on August 21, 2023, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated With a Child (Leandra’s Law) following a solo car accident in Pomfret.

Pomfret – New York State Troopers arrested Nicole S. Mott,31, on Sunday evening after responding to a 911 call reporting a vehicle off the road along Fredonia Stockton Road. The incident occurred around 6:55pm. Upon arrival, troopers found Mott behind the wheel with an 11-year-old child as a passenger. Mott claimed that an attempted u-turn led her into the ditch.

During questioning, troopers observed indications of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and her inability to pass field sobriety tests. The child was safely entrusted to a family member. Mott underwent processing at State Police Fredonia, where a breath test revealed a blood alcohol content of .14%.

She received traffic citations and was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
