(WNY News Now) – The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is inviting public commentary on a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) proposal for the area encompassing Washington, E. Second, and Park Streets in Dunkirk.

Dunkirk – Regan Development Corporation has submitted the BCP application for the site, identified as Block of Washington, E. Second & Park. Interested parties can access application materials and related documents online through DECinfo Locator or at the Dunkirk Public Library. Comments can be submitted via mail, email, or phone until September 22, 2023.

The Brownfield Cleanup Program active since 2003, aims to rejuvenate economically disadvantaged areas by incentivizing brownfield cleanup and redevelopment. Further details are available on DEC’s website.
