(WNY News Now) – The Reg Lenna Center for The Arts has revealed that Jason Sample will be stepping down as the Station Manager of the noncommercial community radio station WRFA-LP in mid-September. Sample’s decision comes as he seizes a new opportunity in communications and public relations, marking the end of his tenure as General Manager.

Jamestown – Amid WRFA’s transition from Corporation for Public Broadcasting funding, the station has been crafting a 3-year strategic plan to maintain its significance in the local Jamestown community and Chautauqua County. Sample, who joined WRFA as a volunteer in 2008, aims to stay until the plan’s fruition, expressing commitment to its future trajectory.

Sample, the former Public Affairs Director and GM since March 2021, will conclude his role on September 14. Reg Lenna Center, WRFA staff, and stakeholders will collaborate on reshaping the station’s structure, with changes in personnel anticipated. Interim station GM, Julia Ciesla-Hanley, takes the helm.

Established by the Arts Council for Chautauqua County in 2004, WRFA-LP celebrates its 19th anniversary on September 13, 2023. Reg Lenna Center’s Executive Director, Hillary Meyer, acknowledges Sample’s contributions and wishes him success in his upcoming endeavors.
