Repeat Offender Receives 3-6 Year Prison Sentence for Series of Crimes


(WNY News Now) – A Cheektowaga man was sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison as a repeat offender.

Erie County – Mark L. Cepuchowski of Cheektowaga has been sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison by Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan after a series of criminal activities. The 39-year-old, classified as a second felony offender, stole merchandise worth $8,129.98 from department stores in the Town of Lancaster and the Town of Orchard Park on March 6, 2023. The defendant’s involvement in these thefts was proven through security surveillance footage.

Cepuchowski also faced charges for unlawfully entering an automobile wash business in the Village of Springville on October 3, 2021. He caused damage to gain entry and further destruction to steal money from change machines, with DNA evidence linking him to the scene. These offenses were committed while awaiting sentencing for a prior crime, during which he admitted to stealing an ATV.


Following non-compliance with a court-mandated program and multiple arrest warrants, Cepuchowski was apprehended on June 21, 2023. He ultimately pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (Class “D” felony) and Attempted Burglary in the Third Degree (Class “E” felony) on July 20, 2023.
