(WNY News Now) – A routine patrol by the Jamestown Police Department on 9/4/23 resulted in the arrest of two Jamestown residents on charges of obstructing government administration and fugitive from justice.

Jamestown – Jamestown Police Department’s K9 Unit spotted Steven D. Schrecengost, 28, riding a bicycle through backyards. Schrecengost had multiple active warrants within the city. Upon tracking him to a residence, officers encountered Lisa M. Tibbetts, 47, who initially denied Schrecengost’s presence. After gaining permission from the homeowner to enter the house, Tibbetts obstructed officers’ entry and was subsequently arrested for obstructing governmental administration.

A search of the residence led to Schrecengost’s discovery in a bedroom, attempting to conceal himself. He was arrested without further incident. Tibbetts was booked on obstructing governmental administration and released with an appearance ticket, while Schrecengost faces additional charges and is held pending arraignment.

It was later revealed that Schrecengost was wanted in the State of Georgia on charges of fugitive from justice.
