DWI Arrest After Failing to Yield to Emergency Vehicle

(WNY News Now) – Ellicott police arrested a local man for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and aggravated DWI with a BAC of .18 or more, following a traffic stop initiated when he failed to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Ellicott – On September 2, 2023, Daryll V. Thompson Jr., 38, was arrested failing to move over for an emergency vehicle, prompting a traffic stop by the Ellicott Police Department. Subsequent investigation revealed that Thompson was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Thompson now faces charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI) and aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .18 or more. He was released with an appearance ticket and is expected to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court on a later date.
