Chamber of Commerce to Honor Local Leaders

(WNY News Now) – The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to celebrate outstanding community leaders and impactful businesses during its Annual Awards Banquet on October 5.

Chautauqua – The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce is set to recognize local leaders and businesses for their exceptional contributions at the Annual Awards Banquet scheduled for Thursday, October 5.

The Economic Development Award will be presented to the Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth (CCPEG). CCPEG, comprising over 65 partner organizations, has been dedicated to enhancing business development, workforce development, housing development, and infrastructure within the county.

Greg Peterson will receive the Person of the Year Award for his 35 years of service as general counsel to the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency and his extensive involvement in civic, charitable, and professional organizations.

Various Community Impact Awards will also be presented:

Bridget Majka will receive the award in Dunkirk for her work with Chautauqua County Rural Ministry.

DFT Communications, a telecommunications company serving the region for 125 years, will be recognized in Fredonia.

Rick Klisiewicz, chair of the Hanover Community Chamber Committee, will receive the Hanover Community Impact Award.

The Ralph C. Sheldon Foundation will be honored for its philanthropic work in southern Chautauqua County.

Sorena Gilkinson will be recognized for her contributions to the Mayville-Chautauqua community.

Janese and Tom Berkhouse will jointly receive the Westfield-Barcelona Community Impact Award.

The Chamber encourages the community to join them in celebrating these deserving recipients at the Annual Awards Banquet on October 5 at SUNY Fredonia’s Williams Center. Registration is open to all through the Chamber’s website.
