
(WNY News Now) – At 10:07 am on Saturday, September 9th, 2023, Olean firefighters responded to a structure fire at 305 Center Street, successfully containing the blaze to the mudroom and preventing further damage.
Olean – Olean firefighters received a distress call at 10:07 am reporting a structure fire at 305 Center Street. The caller described seeing flames and smoke emanating from the rear of the building, prompting an immediate response from Olean PD.
Upon arrival, Olean PD confirmed the presence of a structure fire and requested a 2nd alarm assignment due to the building’s size and the volume of smoke. Olean Fire quickly mobilized, with Engine 41, Engine 42, and Ladder 164 and their eight firefighters arriving within three minutes and initiating water deployment within five minutes.
Fortunately, only one pediatric patient was assessed on scene and didn’t require hospitalization. The Olean Fire Investigation Team is currently investigating the incident, with the cause yet to be determined.
Olean Firefighters received assistance from the Olean Police Department, Trans Am Ambulance, and Deputy 4 Coordinator.
