Jamestown Woman Faces Multiple Charges After Clash with Police

(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown resident is facing several charges, including Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Harassment in the 2nd Degree, and Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree, after an alleged confrontational incident with law enforcement in Jamestown.

Jamestown – On the night of September 9, 2023, at around 9:43 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to a reported order of protection violation at a south side Jamestown residence. Authorities were informed that the alleged perpetrator, Rebecca H. Butcher, had unlawfully entered the victim’s home, breaching a valid order of protection. Subsequent investigations revealed Butcher held outstanding warrants for various offenses, including Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Petit Larceny.

Officers located Butcher near the scene and attempted to apprehend her. During the arrest, Butcher allegedly assaulted an officer with a disposable cup filled with ice and resisted arrest. She now faces charges of Harassment in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree.


Butcher remains in custody, awaiting arraignment in the Jamestown City Jail.
