
(WNY News Now) – A 54-year-old Jamestown resident, is in custody after being arrested on charges of DWAI (Driving While Ability Impaired), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, and two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree.
Jamestown – On September 10, 2023, at approximately 7:00 a.m., officers from the first platoon responded to a report of a suspicious situation at McCrea Point Park (20 Jones and Gifford Ave). Police allegedly found Lisa R. Calkins, 54, of Jamestown slumped over the wheel of a vehicle. Following standardized field sobriety tests, it was determined that she was operating the vehicle under the influence.
Further investigation revealed Calkins was in possession of 17.2 grams of Methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and packaging materials. She was arrested without incident and is currently held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. Charges against her include driving under the influence, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
