(WNY News Now) – After a summer hiatus and fair season, the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s 4-H Program is gearing up to relaunch its LEAF Jr classes, offering youth an opportunity to learn about farming and homesteading.

Falconer – The LEAF Jr series, which stands for Learn, Empower, Achieve, Farm, is set to commence on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 6:00 pm. The event will be hosted at the Patterson Library on 40 S. Portage St, Westfield, NY 14787. Youth aged 5-19 can participate in hands-on activities, such as apple sauce-making, with a suggested $5 donation to the program. Importantly, enrollment in 4-H is not a requirement for participation.

To register, individuals can contact Lauren at 716/326-2154 or email Lindsey at lc832@cornell.edu. Parents or guardians must accompany youth aged 5-8 for the entire class, with no additional fees for their participation.

The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County (CCE-Chautauqua) sponsors the 4-H Program, which operates as a tax-exempt educational entity under Cornell University’s guidance. CCE-Chautauqua aims to address local needs while supporting state and national objectives. For more information, visit www.cce.cornell.edu/chautauqua or call 716-664-9502.
