
(WNY News Now) – Get ready for an exciting nocturnal adventure as Audubon Community Nature Center invites families and young explorers to uncover the secrets of the night on September 23, 2023.
Jamestown – Many fascinating creatures emerge from the shadows once the sun sets, transforming the forest into an enchanting world. Audubon’s Natural Investigators event on September 23, 2023, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., offers an opportunity for kids aged 8 to 12 and their families to delve into this nighttime realm.
Participants will embark on a journey to listen for owls, learn about echolocation, and observe the elusive creatures lurking in the dark. Games and activities will test their night vision skills. Safety instructions and insights into the creatures they might encounter will be provided before heading out on the trail.
Flashlights will be turned off during part of the hike to enhance night vision. Rain or shine, come dressed for the weather.
Enrollment is limited, with a fee of $12 for adults and $9 for Nature Center members and children aged 8 to 12. Paid reservations are required by September 21, 2023, via phone at (716) 569-2345 or online at AudubonCNC.org.
This captivating program is a monthly event, typically held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on the fourth Saturday of each month.
