(WNY News Now) – The County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) has announced the appointment of Jason Sample as the new Communications & Marketing Coordinator, tasked with promoting economic development and enhancing the county’s image.
Jamestown – The County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) is thrilled to introduce Jason Sample as its latest addition to the team. In his role as Communications & Marketing Coordinator, Sample will play a pivotal role in executing strategic marketing plans and overseeing general communications for CCIDA and the Chautauqua County Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC). His responsibilities include spearheading marketing and communication initiatives to spotlight projects by both organizations, accentuating economic opportunities in the county, and promoting services provided by these development agencies.
Sample expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m excited to be joining the CCIDA and CREDC team, working to promote our county’s economic development success stories, along with championing the business development opportunities and quality of life enhancements within our county.”
While primarily affiliated with CCIDA, Sample will undertake a dual role, collaborating with the Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth (CCPEG) to manage communication efforts promoting each entity and its services. In addition to coordinating organizational communications, he will lead countywide marketing campaigns and special projects, showcasing Chautauqua County as an ideal place for living, working, playing, and conducting business, all in close coordination with external partners.
Mark Geise, CCIDA Chief Executive Officer and Deputy County Executive for Economic Development, expressed satisfaction with the appointment, stating, “We’re very pleased to have Jason joining our team. He has a strong understanding of what the CCIDA does, as well as great familiarity with the people and communities across Chautauqua County.”
Jason Sample brings over two decades of experience in regional media to his new role. His most recent position was as the General Manager of WRFA-LP in Jamestown, where he managed programming for the FM radio station. He also served as the station’s Public Affairs Director, covering local issues and news stories in Jamestown and Chautauqua County. Before WRFA, Sample served as the editor of the Chautauqua Star newspaper, a county-wide publication showcasing local businesses and individuals. He also spent over seven years as a news reporter and sports anchor on WJTN radio in Jamestown.
Sample has a history of community involvement, having served as a trustee with the Chautauqua County Historical Society and as board president and marketing committee chair for Infinity Visual & Performing Arts in Jamestown.
A Jamestown native and alumnus of Falconer High School and Jamestown Community College, Sample holds a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from West Virginia University.
Reflecting on his deep ties to the area, Sample said, “I’ve spent a great deal of time over the years living and working in various communities across Chautauqua County, not only covering local news but also getting to know its people, places, and businesses. I’m looking forward to using my knowledge and experience to help promote our county’s economic achievements and also promoting why it’s such a special and unique place to live, work, and play.”
