(WNY News Now) -A 34-year-old Jamestown resident, has been charged with 4 counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Tampering with physical evidence, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, following an incident on September 25, 2023.
Jamestown -Jennifer L. Conti, a 34-year-old Jamestown resident was brought into the Jamestown City Jail on an outstanding bench warrant. The situation escalated when officers conducting a search allegedly discovered suspected drugs concealed on her person.
In a subsequent confrontation with law enforcement, Conti allegedly attempted to ingest the concealed drugs to evade further charges. During the struggle, the bag containing the suspected drugs ruptured, releasing a white powdery substance into the air. As a result, four officers were exposed to the substance and had to be transported to UPMC for medical treatment. Tests confirmed the presence of fentanyl in the substance.
Jennifer Conti now faces multiple charges, including four counts of Assault 2nd Degree for the altercation with officers, Tampering with physical evidence, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.
She is currently held at the Jamestown City Jail, awaiting arraignment.
