(WNY News Now) – North Tonawanda, NY – The North Tonawanda City Market, recently crowned the #1 BEST Farmers Market in the United States, is set to host a Grand Celebration during its Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 10 AM to 1 PM.
The North Tonawanda City Market, basking in the glory of its newfound title as the nation’s top Farmers Market, invites all residents of Western New York to join them in commemorating this prestigious achievement during the Customer Appreciation Day festivities. The event will take place at 310 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda, NY.
Market Manager Chris Delprince expressed heartfelt gratitude to the community, saying, “Words cannot express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the wonderful people of WNY for making us the #1 Farmers Market in America.”
The celebration promises free refreshments courtesy of Senek Farms, Tower Orchards, Dukes Donuts, and Ko’s Kettle Corn, featuring apple cider, apple cider donuts, apples, and live music by the “Good News Band.” The festivities begin at 10 AM and continue until 1 PM, with a special program and recognitions scheduled for 11 AM.
Mayor Austin Tylec commented, “The North Tonawanda City Market is truly a very special experience to behold,” echoing the sentiments of the entire community.
Attendees can also snag special stickers proclaiming, “I shop at the #1 Farmers Market in America,” and bumper stickers from the American Farmland Trust. This recognition comes as part of the 15th annual America’s Farmers Market Celebration, which showcased the vital role of farmers markets across the nation.
In a statement, the American Farmland Trust praised North Tonawanda City Market’s achievement, noting that it secured the #1 spot in the nation, Northeast region, and New York state, with 18,326 votes cast during the contest. Over 2,000 markets participated in the 15th annual celebration, presented by American Farmland Trust and Farmers Market Coalition.
