(WNY News Now) – A 54-year-old resident of Orchard Park, has pleaded guilty to charges of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree and Third Degree, admitting to embezzling over $279,000 from an elderly family member and a local little league team.

Orchard Park – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn has confirmed that Bradley K. Hudak, a 54-year-old Orchard Park resident, pleaded guilty to one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree and one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree before State Supreme Court Justice Debra Givens. Hudak admitted to his involvement in these financial crimes, which took place between January 2018 and June 2022.

During this period, Hudak, who served as the power of attorney for an elderly family member residing in Orchard Park, fraudulently siphoned approximately $269,272.92 from the victim’s retirement account, transferring the funds to his personal bank accounts. Additionally, he misappropriated approximately $10,000 from the victim’s pre-paid funeral expense account.

Hudak, further compounding his wrongdoing, confessed to stealing more than $3,000 from a local little league baseball team’s bank account while he was the coach of the “Southtowns Shock” team. These funds were intended to cover team expenses but were diverted for his personal use.

Hudak signed a Confession of Judgment, obligating himself to pay full restitution of $279,272.92 to the elderly victim.

Bradley K. Hudak now faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and is scheduled for sentencing on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.

He was released on his own recognizance.
