
(WNY News Now) – A 30-year-old has pleaded guilty to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree for fatally shooting a 27-year-old outside an East Side corner store in June 2020.
Buffalo – In a significant development, 30-year-old Mahzhee X. Young of Buffalo has entered a guilty plea for the tragic killing of David D. Moore, 27, on June 9, 2020. The incident occurred at approximately 11:18 p.m. outside a corner store located at East Ferry Street and Grider Street in Buffalo. The fatal encounter unfolded during a verbal altercation, culminating in Young firing multiple shots at Moore using an illegal firearm. Moore was subsequently rushed to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) by private vehicle but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
Young’s guilty plea, which includes one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, positions him for a maximum prison sentence of 25 years. Sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., and Young remains in custody without bail.
