
JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (WNY NEWS NOW) – The Jamestown Red Raiders homecoming high school football game is Friday night against the Lancaster Legends at Strider Field.
Jamestown is tied for first place in section 6 class AA with Bennett, both with a record of 5-0. Lancaster is 4-1, good for second place in class AA.
Jamestown is coming off a 50-14 victory last week over Hutch-Tech. Meanwhile, Lancaster lost their first game of the season last week to Bennett by a score of 40-22.
So far this season, Jamestown has been able to easily handle their opponents but this weeks game against Lancaster could prove their first tough test of the season.
Another tough test for Jamestown will come next week as they host Bennet at Strider Field. Both the game against Lancaster and the game against Bennett will have big implications towards playoff seeding and home field advantage.
Friday’s game will also be Jamestown’s homecoming game. Festivities will include the homecoming parade from Allen Park to Strider Field starting at 6PM Friday. The picks for homecoming king and queen will occur during halftime of the game.
