Jamestown Suffers Their Second Loss Of The Season


JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (WNY NEWS NOW) – One week after losing their first game of the season to Lancaster, the Jamestown Red Raiders put up a hard fought game but still fell to undefeated Bennett. 

On a chilly night Friday evening under the lights at Strider Field, Bennett defeated Jamestown 44-22.

Jamestown failed to do anything on their opening possession of the game. Meanwhile, Bennett drove 79 yards down the field for their first touchdown to take an 8-0 lead with the 2-point conversion.


Jamestown did respond with a touchdown of their own via a 2 yard run by Jamestown’s Chase Bonta.

Within a minute and 20 seconds into the second quarter, Bennett put up another touchdown but missed the 2 point conversion.

A proceeding Jamestown offensive fumble led to another touchdown by Bennett.



The end of the 2nd quarter got a little exciting as Bennett put up another touchdown with only 22 seconds left in the half. Jamestown would quickly respond, scoring their own touchdown with 3 seconds left in the half.

The touchdown at the end of the half sent the Raiders into halftime down but still in the game.

Coming out of halftime, Bennett wasted no time putting up their 5th touchdown of the game to take a 36-14 lead.

Chase Bonta would get Jamestown’s first touchdown of the second half and his second touchdown of the game in the early part of the 4th quarter to pull within 2 touchdowns of Bennett, 36-22.



Bennett would get one final touchdown of the evening with 5 minutes left to go in the game.

Jamestown would not score the remainder of the game.

With the loss, Jamestown falls to 5-2 on the season. Bennett remains undefeated, improving to 7-0.

The Raiders finish up their regular season next week when they head on the road to face Orchard Park.
