Jamestown Woman Apprehended on Resisting Arrest Charge


(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown woman was apprehended by the Jamestown Police Department’s 1st Platoon on Strong Street at 11:26 am October 13, 2023. The arrest occurred while officers attempted to stop her due to an outstanding bench warrant from Chautauqua County, allegedly leading to a brief foot pursuit and subsequent arrest on a charge of resisting arrest.

Jamestown – In response to an outstanding bench warrant, Jamestown Police officers from the 1st Platoon encountered Toni L. Schnars, a 31-year-old Jamestown resident, on Strong Street today at 11:26 am. The attempted stop was in connection with an existing warrant issued by Chautauqua County authorities.

Schnars briefly attempted to evade the police by engaging in a foot pursuit, but officers promptly managed to take her into custody. She now faces a charge of resisting arrest in addition to the outstanding warrant.


Following her arrest, Toni L. Schnars was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she is being held pending her arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The incident unfolded without any reports of injury or further complications.
