FREDONIA, NEW YORK (WNY NEWS NOW) – The Fredonia State men’s ice hockey team is set to open their 2023/2024 season this Friday with a scrimmage game against the Eastern Hockey League All Stars.

The Eastern Hockey league is a Junior hockey league consisting of 23 teams in four divisions. The EHL is designed to prepare high school and college aged players for college and professional hockey. The EHL was founded in 2013.

The puck drop for the scrimmage game will be at 7PM on the campus of Fredonia State at Steele Hall.


The Fredonia Blue Devils will also have a scrimmage game at Buffalo State on Saturday at 3PM.

The Blue Devil’s will open the regular season on the road October 27/28 at Trine University in Indiana.

Their first regular season home game will be versus Buffalo State on November 10th.

The Blue Devils compete in the NCAA Division III and are members of the State University of New York Athletic Conference. They finished their 2022/2023 season with a record of 7-18 overall.
