
(WNY News Now) – Two individuals were arrested on charges of Criminal Trespass and related offenses after police responded to a reported burglary in progress at a condemned residence on Forest Ave on October 24th.
Jamestown – On the evening of October 24th, 2023, officers from the 2nd platoon responded to a reported burglary in progress at a condemned property located on Forest Ave. Upon their arrival, they discovered an open window on the front of the residence. While awaiting additional officers for support, two individuals, identified as Joseph A. Kazmar, 44 years old, and Savannah Raynor, 20 years old, emerged from within the condemned building.
Further investigation alleged that both Kazmar and Raynor had entered the property despite it being posted as condemned by the City of Jamestown. Without any resistance, the officers took them into custody. During a search conducted subsequent to the arrest, a small quantity of methamphetamine and tools commonly associated with unauthorized entry into buildings and vehicles were found in Kazmar’s possession.
Following their arrest, both Kazmar and Raynor were transported to the city jail, where they were booked and subsequently released with appearance tickets. Joseph A. Kazmar faces charges of Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Possession of Burglar Tools. Meanwhile, Savannah Raynor has been charged with Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree.
The case is set to be handled in Jamestown City Court. As of now, both individuals have been released with appearance tickets, pending their scheduled court date.
