Jamestown Woman Arrested for Late Night Shooting

(WNY News Now) – A domestic incident turned violent on 10/28/23, as Jamestown police responded to a Westside address, finding a male victim shot in the chest. The alleged shooter a 55-year-old Jamestown woman is now in custody and faces serious charges.

Jamestown – On the night of October 28, 2023, at approximately 10:48 pm, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s third platoon rushed to a residence on the Westside of the city following a reported shooting. At the scene, they discovered a male victim who had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the alleged shooter was 55-year-old Lasean A. Johnson, a Jamestown resident, who reportedly fired the shot during a heated domestic dispute. Officers promptly secured the weapon used in the incident. Johnson was taken into custody without resistance and transported to the city jail.


She now awaits arraignment in Jamestown City Court, facing charges of Assault in the 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.

The Jamestown Police Department continues to investigate the incident and gather additional details surrounding the circumstances of the dispute.
