
(WNY News Now) – On October 30, 2023, at approximately 12:13 PM, a routine traffic stop on Ivy St and Foote Ave led to the apprehension of a 40-year-old male, who was found to be a fugitive from justice and in possession of a controlled substance.
Jamestown – A routine traffic stop on Ivy St and Foote Ave at 12:13 PM on October 30, 2023, resulted in the arrest of 40-year-old Christopher W. Smith. Smith was taken into custody by officers from the first platoon, who discovered that he had a confirmed warrant out of the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in Wisconsin.
The warrant for Smith’s arrest in Wisconsin included charges for possession of methamphetamine, THC, drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed weapon. In addition to his fugitive status, a search conducted during his arrest revealed that Smith was in possession of 1.0 grams of Fentanyl.
Smith is currently being held in the Jamestown City Jail, pending arraignment on charges of being a fugitive from justice (CPL) and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th Degree.
Smith now faces extradition to Wisconsin to answer for the charges against him.
