(WNY News Now) – The Jamestown High School Madrigal Singers, a talented ensemble under the direction of Lauren Scharf, have been extended a prestigious invitation to participate in the production of “Sister Act” alongside Broadway and local stars, presented by Starring Buffalo at Shea’s 710 Theatre in Buffalo, New York on November 4th.

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown High School Madrigal Singers, renowned for their vocal prowess, have received an exclusive opportunity to showcase their talents in the production of “Sister Act” at Shea’s 710 Theatre in Buffalo, New York. This collaboration is part of Starring Buffalo’s initiative to unite Broadway actors, local talents, and high school students in a concert musical setting.

Under the skilled direction of Lauren Scharf, the Madrigal Singers, a distinguished ensemble within the JHS A Cappella Choir, were chosen alongside two other high schools from the Buffalo region, City Honors High School and Sacred Heart Academy.

“The students are so excited for this opportunity,” said Scharf, who, herself, has participated in a
similar production in the past. “It’s a chance for them to perform alongside and collaborate with
performers from Broadway and the Buffalo area. We’re truly grateful to Starring Buffalo for this
incredible opportunity for our kids.”

Based on the hit 1992 film featuring Whoopi Goldberg, the production of “Sister Act” boasts an all-star cast. American Idol finalist Alyssa Wray will take on the role of Deloris Van Carter, while Tony-Award nominee Sidney DuPont, celebrated for his performances in “Paradise Square” and “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical,” will portray Eddie. The show will also feature Buffalo’s very own stars, including George Brown, Jenn Stafford, Anne DeFazio, Alejandro Gómez, Daniel Lendzian, Timiyah Love, Steven Maiseke, and Katy Miner.

The Madrigal Singers comprise a talented group of JHS students, namely Oliva Beach, Anthony Blakeslee, Xavier Champagne, Anne Conroe, Gavin Cuoco, Nilla Ecklof, Ashlyn Galeazzo, Conner Garcia, Rya Giuffre, Lilly Johnson, Kaitlyn Kennedy, Spencer Kindberg, Hayden Langford, Allison Latona, Brighton Lumia, Jaidan Lutgen, Samuel Mathis, Eddie Meyer, McKenzie Pickett, Ruby Schneider, Isaac Sinatra, Stavros Singleton, Joshua Skinner, Amaya Thompson, and Kelianet Torres Marrero.

The eagerly anticipated performances featuring the Madrigal Singers are scheduled for November 4th at Shea’s 710 Theatre in Buffalo, with showtimes at 2 PM and 7:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased on the Starring Buffalo website (starringbuffalo.org), and those seeking information on discounted ticket options can reach out to Lauren Scharf at lauren.e.scharf@jpsny.org.

This captivating collaboration promises an unforgettable evening of musical enchantment, where the harmonious voices of Jamestown’s finest young talents join forces with seasoned professionals to bring “Sister Act” to life in the heart of Buffalo’s theater scene.
