(WNY News Now) – A resident of Salamanca entered a plea of not guilty to multiple charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, reckless driving of an ATV, speeding on an ATV, and two counts of unlawful operation of an ATV.
Joseph Dowdy, a 37-year-old resident of Salamanca pleaded not guilty to a series of charges stemming from an incident that occurred in the City of Salamanca on or about May 14, 2023.
Dowdy is accused of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, reckless driving of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), speeding on an ATV, and two counts of unlawful operation of an ATV. The controlled substance charges are related to his alleged unlawful possession of one or more preparations, compounds, and mixtures with an aggregated weight of one-eighth ounce.
The incident, in which Dowdy was said to have operated an ATV in a careless, reckless, or negligent manner, led to his arrest and subsequent court appearance. The matter has been adjourned for motions.
