Arrest Made in Connection with Larceny Incidents

(WNY News Now) – Following an extensive investigation conducted by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau, a Cattaraugus County man has been arrested in connection with two counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, one count of Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, and one count of Petit Larceny.

Cattaraugus County – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau has concluded its inquiry into a series of incidents involving burglary and larceny, leading to the arrest of Joseph C. Gierszewski. The alleged offenses occurred on November 8, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the Town of Perrysburg.

Mr. Gierszewski faces charges related to two separate incidents, one at a privately owned garage and the other at a sewage plant site. The charges include two counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, one count of Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, and one count of Petit Larceny.


After being taken into custody, Joseph C. Gierszewski was arraigned at the Town of Ferrysburg court. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending further legal proceedings. Gierszewski is scheduled to appear in the Village of South Dayton Court at a later date.
