WNY NEWS NOW – For the first time in school history, a Southwestern Central School girls athletic team is heading to a State championship tournament.
The Southwestern girls volleyball team will be heading to Glens Falls, New York on Saturday to play in the Class B bracket for the 2023 NYSPHSAA Girls Volleyball Championships.
On Friday morning, Southwestern High School held a pep rally with support from the community to send the team off to Glens Falls.
Part of the pep rally included a performance from the high school band as well as a multi-emergency vehicle escort to depart Southwestern High School.
Southwestern will face off against Lansing of section IV on Saturday at 245PM in the State semifinals.
The winner of that match will move onto the State championship on Sunday against the winner of the section III/XI match.
