(WNY News Now) – Ellicott Police responded to a shoplifting incident at Wegman’s on 11-17-23 at around 4:00 PM, resulting in the apprehension of a 42-year-old who was allegedly observed taking items from the store without payment. 

Town of Ellicott – On the afternoon of November 17, 2023, Ellicott Police swiftly intervened in response to a reported shoplifting incident at Wegman’s. The suspect, identified as Richard R. Michael, 42 years old, was apprehended by store security for allegedly attempting to leave the premises with unpaid items.

At approximately 4:00 PM, store personnel noticed Michael taking merchandise without making payment. Ellicott Police arrived at the scene and took Michael into custody. In accordance with the incident, Michael has been issued an appearance ticket for Petit Larceny.
