(WNY News Now) – A stabbing incident on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at 10:10 A.M., led Syracuse Police to Upstate Hospital, where male victim was not only discovered with multiple stab wounds but also arrested for drug possession.

Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse Police responded to Upstate Hospital on Saturday for a stabbing investigation, finding Genghis Muhammed, 43, with multiple stab wounds. Fortunately, Muhammed is expected to survive.

The stabbing occurred in the 500 block of S. Salina Street before Muhammed reached the hospital. While interacting with Muhammed, officers found illegal drugs in his possession. Consequently, Muhammed was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

The investigation into the stabbing is active; anyone with information is urged to contact the Syracuse Police Department at (315) 442-5222.
