(WNY News Now) – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces the sentencing of Alexander J. Wright for Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
Buffalo, NY – Alexander J. Wright, 44, of Buffalo, received a 3-year probation sentence from State Supreme Court Justice Debra Givens. The judgment stems from a July 8, 2023 incident when Buffalo Police stopped Wright on William Street for a traffic violation.
During the stop, officers observed erratic driving without headlights and witnessed Wright stowing what appeared to be a handgun. A subsequent search revealed an illegal, loaded firearm in the vehicle. Wright pleaded guilty on October 4, 2023, to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a Class “A” misdemeanor.
