(WNY News Now) – The Jamestown Police Department released the weekly crime statistics from December 3 to December 9, 2023. 

Jamestown, N.Y. – During the week starting from December 3 to December 9, 2023, the Jamestown Police Department documented a total of 759 incidents, marking a slight increase of 1.9% from the previous seven days. The top three calls for service included “Check Well Being” (37 incidents), “Domestic Dispute” (29 incidents), and “Animal Complaint” (21 incidents).

The breakdown of incidents encompasses a range of issues, with “Larceny” at 19 incidents, “Unwanted Person” at 17 incidents, and “Suspicious Person” at 16 incidents. Notably, “Motor Vehicle Accidents” accounted for 15 incidents, and there were 56 traffic tickets issued. Drug-related cases amounted to 11, with 2 recorded overdose cases.

The year-to-date (YTD) comparison of case offenses indicates a marginal increase, with 2311 cases in 2023 compared to 2204 in 2022. Arrests also saw a slight rise, with 2068 in 2023 compared to 1920 in the previous year.
