(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, N.Y. – Embrace a unique experience with your 2–8-year-olds this New Year at the Audubon Community Nature Center’s First Sunday Story Time, fostering a love for nature through enchanting tales and exploration.
Families are welcomed to the Nature Center on Sunday, January 7, for a captivating literary journey from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Children’s books play a vital role in connecting youngsters to nature, laying a strong educational foundation. The event, free of charge, offers not only immersive stories but also access to the indoor Nature Play Area, live animals, and exhibits.
With limited spots (15 participants), reservations for Story Time are encouraged by January 6. Secure your spot by calling (716) 569-2345 during open hours or visiting AudubonCNC.org. Walk-ins are accommodated if space permits. Doors open at 12:20 p.m., and general admission opens to the public at 1 p.m. It’s an opportunity for families to share in the joy of learning and discovery in a nature-rich setting.
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. You can visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, and hike, snowshoe or cross country ski the over five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free.
The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1 – 4:30 p.m. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily. Building admission is also free every Sunday for non-Nature Center members.
