(WNY News Now) – Carrollton, NY – On December 31, 2023, at 8:31 pm, a Carrollton man was apprehended for allegedly Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) on Carrollton Village Rd, Carrollton NY, after being found asleep at the wheel in the eastbound lane of the road.

Charles C. Hoag faced DWI charges on New Year’s Eve when authorities discovered him asleep in a running vehicle on Carrollton Village Rd. After failing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs), Hoag was taken into custody and transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office. He allegedly refused to undergo a chemical test during processing, leading to an appearance ticket.

Hoag was released, pending a preliminary hearing in the City of Salamanca Court, and received multiple uniform traffic tickets for further proceedings at the Town of Carrollton Court on a later date.
