(WNY News Now) – WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) called on U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to resign, following his failure to disclose his hospitalization:

“Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin failed to disclose to the White House that he would be unable to fulfill his national security responsibilities, leaving both our troops and government officials in the dark as to who is in command at the Pentagon,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Secretary Austin should resign immediately, as he has proven to be unfit for his position on multiple occasions, from this major breech to the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. President Biden shares responsibility for this incident due to the alarming lack of accountability within his administration.”

Congressman Nick Langworthy represents the 23rd Congressional District of New York, including Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties and parts of Erie County. Visit langworthy.house.gov.
