(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – The National Weather Service (NWS) Buffalo NY has issued a Wind Advisory for multiple counties in Western New York, effective until 7 PM EST today.

The advisory warns of sustained southwest winds ranging from 30 to 40 mph, accompanied by gusts reaching up to 55 mph. Affected areas include Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties.

Drivers, especially those in high-profile vehicles, are urged to exercise extra caution due to potential difficulty in handling vehicles. Additionally, residents are advised to secure outdoor objects as gusty winds may lead to the displacement of unsecured items and the potential for downed tree limbs, possibly causing a few power outages.
