(WNY News Now) – PA – In anticipation of an upcoming Winter Storm, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Penn DOT) issues restrictions on I-90 – NYS Thruway west of NY State Line/PA State Line. All lanes remain open, but certain vehicles are prohibited for safety.

Penn DOT, in response to the forecasted weather, advises the following vehicles are not permitted on I-90: Tractors without trailers, tractors towing specific trailers, tandem trailers without chains, enclosed cargo delivery trucks, passenger vehicles towing trailers, recreational vehicles, school buses, commercial buses, and motorcycles. These restrictions are implemented throughout the Commonwealth as of January 12, 2024. Travelers are urged to stay informed about the changing conditions and plan their journeys accordingly.
