(WNY News Now) – WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant for Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Chemung County, in the amount of $2,677,914.
“In the face of unpredictable weather emergencies, ensuring safety and access to medical care in our community is paramount,” said Congressman Langworthy. “The $2.6 million FEMA grant for Arnot Ogden Medical Center marks a critical investment in emergency generators, reinforcing our commitment to saving lives and upholding patient care, especially during challenging winter storms. This funding is a lifeline for this hospital, ensuring its resilience and capacity to navigate unforeseen circumstances with unwavering dedication.”

In the face of winter storms and other weather emergencies, this investment ensures that our critical rural hospital is ready to meet the healthcare needs of our community, no matter the circumstances.”
According to FEMA, this grant will fund the enhancement of the emergency power system in three areas at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Area 1 is the emergency power supply system and includes replacing an 800 kW generator with a 1000 kW generator, a new automatic transfer switch, and the installation of additional power meters.
