(WNY News Now) – A 43-year-old Jamestown resident is facing charges of Menacing in the 2nd Degree following an incident on the west side of the city where he allegedly pointed a rifle at a male victim during an argument.

On 1/11/24 at 8:49 p.m., officers of the second platoon responded to a west side address for a person with a weapon. Investigation revealed that Cody D Cogdell pointed a rifle at a male victim during an argument. Placed into custody without incident, Cogdell was transported to Jamestown City Jail and charged with Menacing in the 2nd Degree. Released on an appearance ticket, he is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. The incident emphasizes law enforcement’s response to potentially dangerous situations involving weapons.
