(WNY News Now) – A 36 year old Jamestown man is facing charges of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree after a warrant check at a southside address reveals violations of orders of protection.
On January 16, 2024, at 10:39 p.m., Jamestown Police Departments’ Violent Crime Unit, 2nd Platoon, 3rd Platoon, and Nuisance Officer responded to a southside address for a warrant check on Lucas A. Smyczek. Smyczek, with multiple warrants and an active NYS Parole Warrant, was found inside the residence, violating a duly served order of protection from Jamestown City Court. Following a standoff, officers successfully took Smyczek into custody. He is charged with two counts of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree, in addition to his existing warrants. Held pending arraignment, Smyczek awaits court proceedings at Jamestown City Court.
