(WNY News Now) – A 53 year old Ellicott man is facing charges following a domestic incident in Celoron on 1-17-24 in which he allegedly damaged property and violated a protection order.

Jason S. Smith, 53, faces charges following a domestic incident in Celoron on 1-17-24. Ellicott officers responded to a call, discovering Smith had allegedly damaged property and violated a valid order of protection at a protected party’s residence.

After a thorough investigation, Smith was apprehended hiding nearby and charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, criminal contempt in the first degree, and aggravated family offense. The incident unfolded in the village of Celoron, leading to Smith’s transport to Chautauqua County jail for a centralized arraignment. Scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott court, Smith, 53, will answer the charges at a later date.
