(WNY News Now) – A 42-year-old male was apprehended on 01/27/24 at 6:47 p.m. in Jamestown, NY, following a reported shoplifting incident at Dollar General on 1356 Washington St.
Responding to an in-progress shoplifting call, second platoon officers discovered Alberto Narvaez Aponte Jr. had entered the building and was allegedly stealing merchandise. The Violence Interdiction Unit later conducted a street check near E 8th St / Prendergast Ave, leading to Aponte’s arrest. A subsequent search unveiled his unlawful possession of cocaine and methadone. Aponte is currently held at Jamestown City Jail, awaiting arraignment on charges including Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Petit Larceny, and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. The case is set for Jamestown City Court.
