(WNY News Now) – In the early hours of February 6, 2024, a 35-year-old Jamestown resident, was apprehended by the Jamestown Police Department during a routine street check on Prendergast Ave. A subsequent search revealed that she was in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.

At approximately 2:49 AM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon observed two individuals walking in the middle of the roadway in the 600 Block of Prendergast Ave. Upon conducting a street check, Laura L. Deering identified herself and was discovered to have an active arrest warrant in the City of Jamestown. Without incident, she was taken into custody.

A subsequent search revealed Deering was in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. She now faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
