Jamestown Resident Faces Multiple Charges Following Alleged Disturbing Encounter


(WNY news Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 22-year-old Jamestown resident, is held pending arraignment on charges of Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts), and Harassment 2nd Degree (2 counts) after a disturbing incident in downtown Jamestown.

On Feb. 7, 2024, at around 12:10 AM, Third Platoon officers responded to reports of a suspicious male following two juvenile females in downtown Jamestown. Upon locating the victims, officers identified the suspect as Fernando O. Rivera, who was allegedly following them for approximately a quarter mile, causing fear with his unsettling remarks. Rivera was taken into custody without incident, revealing an existing order of protection.

Transported to Jamestown City Jail, he now faces charges of Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts), and Harassment 2nd Degree (2 counts). Rivera awaits arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
