(WNY News Now) – A 28-year-old Jamestown resident was apprehended on charges of Criminal Impersonation, Drug Possession, and Bicycle violations on W 6th St. / Cherry St. on Feb. 7, 2024 at 10:20 p.m.

Jamestown Police Officers, on routine patrol, stopped James D. Eastham riding a bicycle on a sidewalk without proper lights. Believing he had an outstanding warrant, Eastham initially impersonated a family member. Subsequent identification revealed his true identity, leading to the arrest on charges of Criminal Impersonation and discovery of concealed fentanyl. Additional charges include Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Riding a Bicycle on a Sidewalk, and multiple traffic violations. Eastham was released on an appearance ticket. The case will proceed to Jamestown City Court.
