(WNY News Now) – Five Jamestown residents were apprehended following a narcotics raid at a basement apartment on Hedges Avenue, where law enforcement officials seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, and related paraphernalia.

In the early hours of February 9th, 2024, the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, in collaboration with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators and the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at a basement apartment located at 101 Hedges Avenue. Darren K. Mushat, Catherine R. Bindics, Anthony M. Spitale, Shawn M. Paprocki, and Timothy A. Blakeslee Jr. were found inside the residence and taken into custody.

During the search, authorities discovered 3.1 grams of fentanyl, 4.0 grams of methamphetamine, packaging materials, a scale, and a small sum of US currency. Anthony Spitale was found in possession of an additional 5.8 grams of fentanyl and 2.6 grams of methamphetamine. All individuals were transported to the Jamestown City Jail and charged with various drug-related offenses, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia.

Furthermore, Mushat was apprehended on an outstanding warrant for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Spitale faces additional charges for the possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Assistance during the operation was provided by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Chautauqua County Emergency Services Tac Meds, and Jamestown Fire Department.
