(WNY News Now) – Two individuals are facing charges for obstructing a missing juvenile investigation by providing false information to authorities in Chautauqua County.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division uncovered the attempt by Austin R. Sample, 21, of Brocton, NY, and Kimberly A. Vannorstand, 26, of Curwensville, PA, to hinder the search for a missing juvenile female on Feb. 2, 2024. The duo allegedly misled deputies about the girl’s whereabouts and Vannorstand even tried to alter the juvenile’s appearance to thwart the investigation. Both individuals were charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree. They are scheduled to appear in the Town of Sheridan Court to address the charges.
