(WNY News Now) – WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a member of key Senate committees, expressed pride in voting for the bipartisan national security supplemental, emphasizing its significance amid rising global adversities. The $95.34 billion package addresses critical needs, including aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, humanitarian assistance for Gaza, and regional deterrence.

In a bipartisan move, the Senate passed a $95.34 billion national security supplemental package, with Senator Gillibrand advocating for its swift approval in the House. The package allocates $60.06 billion to aid Ukraine against Russian aggression, $14.1 billion for Israeli security, and $2.44 billion for U.S. Central Command operations. Additionally, $9.15 billion supports global humanitarian efforts, with $4.83 billion countering Chinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific. Notably, Senate Republicans initially opposed the package, leading to the exclusion of bipartisan border policy provisions.
