(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – Reg Lenna Center for The Arts announces upcoming screenings of Academy Award nominees, Past Lives and Mean Girls, providing audiences with a blend of heartrending romance and comedic twists.

Past Lives (Wed., Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.) is an Academy Award nominee for Best Picture. Bea (Sydney Sweeney)  Nora and Hae Sung, two deeply connected childhood friends, are wrest apart after Nora’s family emigrates from South Korea. Two decades later, they are reunited in New York for one fateful week as they confront notions of destiny, love, and the choices that make a life, in this heartrending modern romance. Past Lives is rated PG-13 and is 106 minutes long. 
 
From the comedic mind of Tina Fey comes a new twist on the modern classic, Mean Girls (Sat., Feb. 24 at 8 p.m.)  New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called “The Plastics,” ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey in Regina’s crosshairs. As Cady sets to take down the group’s apex predator with the help of her outcast friends Janis (Auli’i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey), she must learn how to stay true to herself while navigating the most cutthroat jungle of all: high school. Mean Girls is rated PG-13 and is 120 minutes long. 
 
Upcoming Movies @ The Reg include Emma Stone in the Academy Award Best Picture nominee Poor Things (Wed., Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.), Jeffrey Wright in the Academy Award Best Picture nominee American Fiction (Wed., Mar. 6 at 7 p.m.), Ava Duvernay’s critically acclaimed drama Origin (Sat., Mar. 9 at 7 p.m.) and the Academy Award Best Picture and Best International Feature nominee The Zone of Interest (Wed., Mar. 20 at 7 p.m.)
Tickets to Movies at The Reg are $7 for movies and $6 for family films, with an additional $1 theater restoration fee added. Special movie engagements are priced differently. They may be purchased 12-5 p.m. Monday and Friday and 12-8 p.m. Wednesday, at 716.484.7070 and online at reglenna.com.
